Proud Papa!

So im sorry its been so long since i posted, but i have a good excuse, we have a baby! Not just any baby, the coolest baby in the world! Our due date was the 15th of December. My parents arrived on the 14th. I had gone to the doctor the week before and i was 2 centimeters dialated and 50% effaced, so we thought Levi would come early. But my parents came, my due date came, but no baby came. My next appointment , i was 3 centimeters and 90% effaced. So i thought it would be any minute! We schedualed a induction for the 21st, but i thought surely he will come by then. I mean i ate a whole pineapple, spicy food, long walks, cleaning like a fool, and my belly just kept growing. The doctor estimated a 8 pound baby (remember this). So Friday the 21st came and it was time to go to the hospital. We got there at 7:30am, they broke my water at 9:30. But i wasnt progressing so they started me on petocin. But i still wasnt progressing, so they gave me more. Thats when i got an epidural! It was a long day and both Jon and I were pretty tired. At 9:30 pm, it was time to start pushing. It was such a sureal and amazing experience to go through with Jon. We decided that we just wanted him, the doctor and nurse in the room. Jon put on some mellow music, i think it was Jack Johnson, or our wedding cd. My doctor dimmed the lights. He was really great and laid back. It made it alot more relaxing. Jon was the best coach..oh and photographer. Did i mention he filmed the whole thing? I didnt want him to, but he promised that it would be graphic free. So in between pushes he ran to take pictures and make sure the video camera was working properly. Anyone who knows Jon is not surprised by this. He finally arrived at 10:58pm, December 21st. It was so peaceful..i held him then they took him to clean and weigh him. SO 8 pounds?..no..9 pounds 4.9 ounces. WHAT? That just came out of me. Well it took an epeziodomy (sp?). After that the peacefulness became a bit caotic. Apparently i wouldnt stop bleeding. Without going into any gorry details, i lost the volume of blood that i gained from the pregnancy. But Dr. Kealy was awesome and got it under control. I was very much out of it. On alot of drugs and very tired. After recovering the family finally got to come in at 1 am. But it was worth the wait! Levi Corbin Laughinghouse is precious. I think he is the most beautiful thing ive ever seen. And its even more amazing to look at him and know that he is part of me and Jon. I cant wait to see more of his personality. Right now hes really laid back and go with the flow. When he cries its so cute, i start to laugh. Hes very observant of everything around him. He will just look at you and study your face. Here are some pictures. We love you all and thankyou for all of your prayers and support! If you want to pray for Levi, pray that he becomes a godly man, who glorifies and serves God with his life.

Well Time is winding down. Levi is due on Saturday (the 15th) !...But we arent sure when he will get here! The doctor wants to induce on the 20th if he doesnt come, so pray he comes! Its nerve racking not knowing when he will get here, but im cleaning everyday in preperation. Jon put the car seat in the car to get ready and we pretty much have our bags packed. The events of the last couple weeks have been busy! After Jon's family left i got sick with a virus or something. I couldnt keep anything down! I lost 5 pounds! But im better now and Levi is still kicking strong. Its getting uncomfortable since he is running out of room. It takes your breath away when you get a foot up under your ribs. Supposedly Levi is head down and low and ready to come out, but we dont know when??? Jon and I got a Christmas tree and he took some photos of my belly so i will share them with yall! Pray that i stop being so anxious and that it is a smooth and healthy delivery. Hopefully I will have baby pictures to put on here! Love yall!

Its been awhile since we have posted here, but things have been super busy! Between getting ready for the baby and running the youth ministry, lots of things have been happening! I turned 30 in September, feeling the pains of aging, but thats life! I was able to go home shortly after that in the beginning of October to see my family in Tampa, FL and have a baby shower, which was alot of fun! Reality set in when getting lots of little boy clothes. Its still hard to believe we will have another Laughinghouse in the house in December! Two boys in the house, wow, pray for me! Jon has been staying busy with youth ministry, but it is going so great! God is really using him to teach the kids how to study their Bibles through a class he is teaching on wednesday night and in 2nd Timothy on Sunday morning! The students are growing and its exciting to see what God is doing in their lives! The baby is getting bigger each day! I feel like there is no room left, but im sure he will proove me wrong! Time is flying by and when i see Christmas decorations in the store Im reminded that i will be having Levi before Christmas gets here! We are excited, nervous, and anxious for his arrival! My whole family is able to come up for Christmas and the baby, so we are looking forward to spending time with them...Grandpa Jim and Grandma Gail. Jon's sister BethAnne and her husband Jamie were able to come spend a night with us. She is due arend the same time as me, so im curious as to if we will deliver the same day! Jon and I also just celebrated our 1st anniversary! Yes we did it, we made it one year! We went an hour away to Cripple Creek Cabins to chill out for a couple days. It was alot of fun. On the way home we went to a park were we walked around taking pictures and took a canoe ride! Jon refuses to think i cant do anything pregnant that i could do normally! So Levi is along for the ride! Oh and other big news is that my sister has moved up here and started work at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She is getting aclamated with the area! Well i will update you soon!

AUNT BETH AND LEVI

JON AND I ARE RACING!

OUR NEW HOME IN SALEM, VA

Well I've been asked to post another blog, since im not so speedy with it! Jon and I are staying very busy in Virginia with youth ministry and settleing in. Time is flying by and its hard to believe we will be having a little boy in a couple months. We are trying to get ready, but still need to paint his room, get furniture, ect.. We were attempting to register the other day and as we look like deer caught in headlights, Jon turns to me and says "We dont have a clue what we are doing!" Ha..this is true. I guess part of the fun of being a new parent is figuring things out! Im sure down the road we will laugh at ourselves and this time in life.
My sister Beth has been visiting for the last week. She is planning on moving up here for a change of pace and so she can be the favorate aunt. Her and my mom are already conspiring on how to spoil Levi. Beth interviewed at a hospital here called Memorial and is leaning toward being a labor delivery nurse. She could end up being my nurse! Although I told her that she may not want to do that, since I would feel the freedom to scream at her while in pain!
Some other big news is that my brother and his wife are expecting! I think something is in the water. So that makes 4 babies coming from the Laughinghouse and English Families!
Ive been feeling good for the most part. ALthough the baby likes to kick and do summersaults in my stomach, particularly when i go to bed! Between being hot and being kicked, i have become a night owl! I feel bad because I try to get Jon to move as far away from me at night because im so hot! Then i ask him "is it hot in here to you, did you turn the air off?" I guess i should know hes not hot, bundled up in the blankets. So i try to take a nap during the day if possible! We have another ultrasound at the end of September, so when we get those pictures we will post them! Youth ministry is going great, Jon is doing a great job and loving it. I think sometimes that im going to have 2 kids to take care of =). But he keeps me on my toes. Well we love you all and i will try to post more soon!

New Beginnings

Jon and I have to say that this last couple years has been a wild ride to say the least. Don't ever underestimate God's power or hand in your life. After putting Jon and myself back together, only God knew what was ahead. We were married October 21st of 2006, but it was 2007 that brought us even closer. My grandmother passed away January 11th 2007, the next day our deli (Over the Falls Deli) caught on fire. We remember sitting and watching a place of so many memories and hard work with black billowing smoke pour out of it; it was very surreal. We picked up and assessed the damage. God was watching over because it could have been alot worse! We started the 3 month process of cleaning, painting, reforming the deli. The next week we left to drive for the airport in Charlotte, NC (the tickets were cheaper) in order to fly to Pensicola, FL to go to my grandmothers funeral (Jon was preaching it). It hadnt snowed at all that winter, but that morning we woke up to the ground covered in white. Needlesstosay our car hit a piece of ice and slid off the road into a telephone pole. We made it to Pensicola by the grace of God, but the Lord definitely had our attention. He was teaching us to trust Him and to understand He is in control. After praying for direction we were told about an opening for a youth pastor at a church in Salem, VA. We prayed alot about this and Jon typed up his resume and sent it in. After a couple of weeks Jon was called and told he was no longer being considered for the position. This was very humbling, but God was in control and we would be wherever He wanted us. But both of us couldnt stop feeling in our spirits that FCC was where we were supposed to be. Life continued and we prepared to reopen the deli. A couple weeks later Jon got a call from pastor Ken at FCC. They felt they made a mistake and wanted us to reconsider. We said yes! So that started the interviewing process, along with many other things in our lives. Soon after we reopened the deli and the same day, i found out I was pregnant! I took 6 tests over the next day...i definitely was pregnant. So another journey begins. To make a long story short they asked Jon to come be the youth pastor for Fellowship Community Church in Salem , VA, we sold the deli, found a house in Salem that we love and picked up and moved. We havent had alot of time to let the understanding of a baby coming settle in till recently. We are very excited and found out we will be having a boy! We havent thought of alot of names, but so far my vote is for LEVI. Jon is doing an awesome job at the church, although we dont consider it a job but a calling. We are having alot of fun with the students and are really excited for what is to come! I thought this blog would be a great way to keep everyone updated..i got the idea from my friend Kristen who is also pregnant..i thought i better get on the ball!..Stay tuned.
